Coronation Street’s Summer Spellman actress reunites with former co-star as fans rush to respond

Fans were quick to comment as Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby was seen reuniting with her former co-star away from the famous cobbles.

The actress, who is best known for playing Summer Spellman in the ITV soap, was seen supporting Daniel Brocklebank over the weekend, who viewers will recall played her guardian, Billy Mayhew, before the character’s tragic demise in the programme earlier this year.

As fans saw, the actor’s 11 years as part of Corrie came to a dramatic end during the programme’s first-ever crossover with Emmerdale, dubbed Corriedale, during which a catastrophic crash unfolded and involved a number of characters from Weatherfield and the Dales.

Billy was confirmed to have perished in the minibus carrying a number of Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey’s wedding guests after it burst into flames following the horror pile-up, and he was left trapped inside.

Since his departure from Corrie, which actually took place back in November with soap’s filming up to eight weeks in advance, Daniel has been seen back on the stage, and his latest role sees him reunited with another former Corrie star, Faye Brookes.

The pair are starring in Double Double, an intense two-hander which made its acclaimed debut in 1986, which is running until May 30 in the Barn Theatre, Cirencester, Cotswolds.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Daniel revealed that Harriet had made the trip to see him in his new role, with the pair getting time to hang out together, months after their time working together came to an end. Alongside a picture of the pair outside a church, he said: “This gorgeous human came to see her “dead TV Dad” in Double Double last night. All the way from Manchester!! So wonderful to see her!! I do love this girl.”

Harriet was seen commenting on the post: “Was wonderful to see you!” while Corrie star Pauline McLynn, who plays Maggie Driscoll, also replied: “Beautiful people.”
