OMG SHOCKING!!! Coronation Street reveals huge dilemma for Adam Barlow after newcomer arrives
Coronation Street‘s Adam Barlow will face a huge dilemma next week, when Alya Nazir suggests her cousin Idris Nazir as a new client. With his law firm still struggling, Adam desperately needs to generate some business, but is it worth the risk?
Newcomer Idris makes his Weatherfield arrival tonight, instantly charming the locals – including Leanne Battersby – by handling some rowdy customers in Speed Daal.

But while Alya is delighted to see her cousin and grateful for his help, her boyfriend and colleague Adam remains sceptical about Idris’ hero act.
Later, viewers see Idris roughing up a shady character, from whom he demands cash, which proves Adam was right to be doubtful. However, with a lack of new cases on the horizon, could the lawyer be forced to do business with the mysterious arrival?
In scenes that will air on Tuesday 2 June, Adam reluctantly agrees to look over Idris’ files, after Alya insists he takes him on as a client. Though Adam’s doubts are still present, he considers representing the newcomer as his lawyer.
But with Idris potentially up to some dodgy dealings, could he live to regret it?
“It’s fair to say that Idris doesn’t make the best first impression on Adam,” explains our Corrie source. “They both have one thing in common – having Alya’s best interests at heart – but that doesn’t mean they get along!
“Adam needs all the business he can get at the law firm after recent setbacks, so taking on Idris seems to be a no-brainer. But will he swallow his pride and make the deal?”
Speaking to at a recent Corrie press event, producer Kate Brooks described the newcomer as “very charming”, with a hidden “ruthless streak”.
She teased some clashes ahead for Idris, saying that he “ruffles a lot of feathers” as he’s “certainly no pushover”.
“He butts heads with some of our more alpha characters quite early on. We’re really excited about Idris – he’s brilliant,” Brooks added.
After Idris Nazir’s mysterious appearance at Weatherfield, tensions on Coronation Street quickly escalated. While initially drawn to his refined appearance and confident demeanor, the longer they interacted with him, the more locals realized Idris was not as simple as his glamorous facade suggested.
Adam Barlow was the first to notice the suspicious signs behind Idris’s smile. While Alya insisted her cousin was simply trying to turn his life around, Adam couldn’t shake his growing unease. Reluctantly agreeing to review Idris’s legal files to save his struggling law firm, Adam quickly discovered a series of inconsistencies in the documents Idris provided.
Things became even more dangerous when Adam discovered Idris had connections to a loan shark group operating around Manchester. A secret phone call that Adam overhears leads him to believe that Idris is trying to use Weatherfield as a hideout after causing trouble elsewhere. However, when Adam tries to warn Alya, she dismisses his suspicions and claims he’s just looking for reasons to hate Idris in the first place.
Meanwhile, Leanne Battersby becomes close to Idris after the incident at Speed Daal. She’s impressed by how he handled the unruly customers and believes Idris is genuinely protective. But Toyah senses something is amiss. She notices Idris frequently appearing at places of conflict or shady dealings, as if he’s secretly controlling things from behind the scenes.
The situation escalates when Debbie Webster informs Ronnie that a large sum of money has disappeared from the hotel’s safe. There was no direct evidence, but many eyes began to turn to Idris after he was seen around the area the night of the theft. Alya immediately defended her cousin, insisting that Idris couldn’t be the thief. But even she began to waver as Idris repeatedly evaded simple questions.
Adam then decided to secretly investigate further. He met an old acquaintance of Idris’s and was shocked to learn that Idris had been involved in numerous shady dealings, including extortion and debt collection. What worried Adam most was Idris’s tendency to exploit his family’s trust to achieve his own goals.
While Adam considered whether to end his business relationship with Idris, the law firm’s finances deteriorated. Old clients left, bills piled up, and the pressure weighed heavily on him. This put Adam in a dilemma. If he refuses Idris, he might lose the chance to save the company. But if he continues to cooperate, he risks dragging himself into dangerous trouble.

Meanwhile, Carla Connor begins to suspect that Idris is manipulating Alya. Carla notices Alya becoming increasingly distant from her friends and frequently defending Idris despite clear warning signs. When Carla tries to talk to Alya, an argument quickly erupts. Alya is angry, believing that everyone is against her family because of prejudice.
However, the truth begins to emerge when a strange man appears in Weatherfield looking for Idris. A tense confrontation between the two takes place right outside the Rovers Return pub, frightening many residents. The man accuses Idris of taking money from a dangerous organization and disappearing without a trace. Although Idris tries to deny it, the panic on his face makes people begin to believe the rumors are true.
Leanne then overheard Idris talking on the phone and mentioning a “shipment” that needed to be delivered before the weekend. This terrified her. When Leanne told Nick, he immediately advised her to stay away from Idris before it was too late.
Meanwhile, Adam received a shocking offer. Idris wanted to sign a large contract with his law firm and promised to bring in more clients if Adam kept quiet about what he knew. This might be his only chance to save the company from bankruptcy. But Adam understood that accepting this offer would draw him deeper into Idris’s dangerous world.
The pressure mounted as police began appearing around the Weatherfield area investigating a money laundering case involving local small businesses. Craig Tinker suspected Idris was using the neighborhood shops to conceal illegal transactions. However, due to a lack of concrete evidence, the police are unable to act.
Alya finally begins to suspect her cousin when she discovers Idris has lied about his real address. A bag full of cash she finds in his apartment completely shocks her. Idris tries to explain that he’s just in temporary trouble and promises to fix everything, but Alya doesn’t know who to believe anymore.
In upcoming episodes, tension escalates as Adam must make a final decision: side with the law and report Idris, or continue cooperating to save his own career. But things could go awry.
