Coronation Street fans work out Summer Spellman’s ‘next move’ after star’s ‘red herring’
Coronation Street fans think they have ‘rumbled’ what Summer Spellman’s next move will be as she found out that Debbie Webster wasn’t the one driving when her guardian, Billy Mayhew, was killed in a horror crash.

As those who follow the ITV soap know, Debbie recently had to serve prison time after she pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and causing the death of local vicar Billy following a horror multi-vehicle crash earlier this year, when really it was Carl Webster who was driving.

Before the crash, viewers saw tensions rising between Carl and Debbie in the car after he stormed out of her wedding reception and just as the latter was about to tell him something, Carl ended up losing control, ploughing into the existing wreckages that had already piled up between Becky, Lisa and Betsy Swain, Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle and John Sugden, and a minibus, carrying a number of Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding guests, driven by Billy.

Carl ended up letting Debbie take the blame after he coldly pulled her unconscious body from the passenger seat into the driver’s seat at the time of the incident to make it seem like she was behind the wheel.
The news left Summer lashing out at Debbie, even slapping her in the Street as she accused her of killing her father figure. Seeing what Debbie was going through, villain Carl eventually admitted his guilt to Debbie, but soon backtracked when Debbie revealed she was his mum, and not his half-sibling like he had grown up to believe.

The villain, therefore, wanted to see Debbie punished, and let her carry on with her plan to take the blame for the accident and Billy’s death, and Corrie fans saw the hotel owner’s health heartbreakingly deteriorate while behind bard, with her having been diagnosed with dementia last year.
With Debbie now released, she’s been trying to get back into the swing of things by heading back to work at the Chariot Square Hotel. But during Wednesday’s (April 8) episode of Corrie, viewers saw Summer spot Debbie, before marching over in search of answers about the night Billy died.

Summer outright asked Debbie if she was covering for someone, and wasn’t actually driving the car at the time of the crash. When Carl’s name was mentioned, Debbie tried to hurry away, seemingly giving Summer the confirmation she needed.
As Ryan Connor approached, a flustered Debbie ended up grabbing the hot plates he had just picked up from the kitchen and as she cried out in pain, Ryan encouraged her to drop the plates while trainee paramedic Asha Alahan rushed in to help. Carl also arrived to see the fiasco unfolding, but was confronted by an angry Summer who made it clear she knew what he had done.
Later, back the flat, Debbie asked Carl what they were going to do about Summer now that she knows the truth. But as he vowed to sort it out, Corrie fans think Summer will end up committing a crime of her own, as Carl is among the five possible victims of an upcoming murder on the cobbles.

me think it could be a ‘red herring’ as when @camjmes0 commented: “Not dead then. #Corrie.” @chg3899 replied: “Might be a deliberate red herring chuck.”
