Emmerdale fire starter’s identity ‘sealed’ as fans convinced character is returning
Fans think a return is sealed on Emmerdale, and that it could be linked to the recent farm fires.
With Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle putting out yet more blazes on the farm, they are concerned about who could be behind it all. Amid new spoilers teasing Ross Barton, Sam Dingle and Kammy Hadiq are all to be accused, fans are wondering if it’s someone else.
Joe Tate and Kev Townsend are also under suspicion, but fans have taken to social media to suggest one of two past characters could actually be the one doing it. Viewers have wondered if Robert’s sibling Andy Sugden could head back to the village.
Kelvin Fletcher’s character fled in 2016 after being stitched up by Chrissie White. He had cleared the air with Robert after a long-running feud, so it seems unlikely he would want some revenge.
Actor Kelvin had already addressed a possible return, seemingly denying one would happen. But this hasn’t stopped fans from predicting he is the fire starter, and he will come back as part of the plot.
A fan asked, sharing their thoughts on who it could be: “Andy?” as another fan posted: “Andy.” A third viewer then said: “I think it’s Andy, Robert’s brother.”
The theory continued to be shared as one fan said: “Andy’s back.” However, one fan pointed out this likely was not the case, as they said: “He’s not in the show lol. He is not coming back he’s already addressed this recently on Lorraine and his insta.”
This led to another theory that it wasn’t Andy returning, but his son Jack Sugden. Jack lives away from the village with his mother Debbie Dingle, while Jack’s sister Sarah Sugden is on the show.
So will Jack be returning? One fan was convinced, as they said: “I think it’s Jack (Debbie & Andys son) getting revenge on Robert for his dad. They have said 2 people joining soon with 1 having a connection to the Sugden family.”
It comes as soap producer Laura Shaw teased there could be some new arrivals, including a Sugden. Laura told Inside Soap magazine: “Well as I said about building the clans, I’ve been trying to do the same with the Sugdens as well as the Tates.
“Obviously, Isabel [Hodgins, who plays Victoria] is on maternity leave at the moment, but Sarah’s married Jacob. He’s taken the Sugden name, and what I want to do over the course of the next few months is remind everyone that Sarah’s also a Sugden.
“But, to answer your question yes, there’s going to be a couple of arrivals to strengthen both the Tate and Sugden clans.”
